Great British Greyness

Greetings to no one in particular.

A few moments ago I climbed into the loft and retrieved a pair of wheely good suitcases.

A year ago my friend was telling me of another of our friends who was about to fly 1500 miles south to avoid the Great British Greyness for a while.

My envy was hard to control.

In a few days we are doing the same, getting a lift to the same airport with the same friend so that we can escape Great British Greyness for a while.

What a difference a year makes, eh?

Now it's decision time, how will she manage to pack all the clothes so as to allow me a full compliment of cameras, lenses, iThings, laptop, batteries and chargers, travel kettle and a kilo of very fine coffee ground as fine as needed to make very good Aeropressed Espresso.

I suspect a brief discussion will be forthcoming sooner rather than later.

This time I won't give in.

Probably.

Maybe.

Excitement mounts and one wonders just what one will do in a (slightly) warmer, (much) sunnier (much) less windier and (very much) drier place when we should be here in the grey.

I suppose that the posting of my first blog post since (see date of previous post) may be a clue.
I suspect that the number of posts over the less grey days will be an indicator of just how bored, reflective, industrious (____________) I am.

It may show that the desire to vent my spleen (which I haven't got) is real.
It may show a need to put thoughts of utter irrelevance out into the bloggospace.
It may be a time when the wrongs of the world can be righted.

Perhaps nothing will happen in which case it may be that really I have nothing to say worth saying.
Perhaps my innate laziness will preclude the expenditure of any worthwhile effort.
